No doubt, if we can love our enemies, there is no one whom we cannot love! Loving our enemies requires a revolutionary change in our way of thinking, a change in the very nature of our being. Our whole attitude must become divine—‘be perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect.’ Is this really possible? Yes! As Saint Teresa of Calcutta once said, “Holiness is not a privilege of a few, but the obligation of all.” It is thus necessary that Christians pursue holiness as an answer to the increasingly dire situation of our world—a world of shifting moral and ethical values. Seeking holiness is a lifelong project. I strive to perfect myself in the present, a moment at a time, by constantly living a life of love.
Every day, every moment, we have choices to make. What will we choose today?
